Executive Summary

As a UI Design Intern at HeyAdvisor, I led multiple design initiatives that enhanced scalability, inclusivity, and brand consistency across the platform. Over four months, I redesigned key product pages in Figma and Webflow, optimized over 250 visual assets for white-label customization, and introduced inclusive AI voiceovers for client video content. My work bridged product and marketing, improving the platform’s usability and perception while setting design standards that continued post-internship.

Overview

During my internship at HeyAdvisor, a women-led fintech startup focused on empowering financial professionals through branded client education content, I worked on a variety of UI and brand design initiatives that directly contributed to product usability and content scalability.
My main focus areas included:

  • UI enhancement and front-end development for key pages (Account Settings, Integrations).
  • Client content optimization, simplifying over 250 assets for brand customizability.
  • Voiceover integration using AI tools for inclusive and flexible client experiences.
  • Brand and marketing collateral design, including a full 60-slide pitch deck, monthly content guide, and social templates.

These projects supported HeyAdvisor’s growth by making their client content system more efficient, scalable, and aligned with user preferences, helping financial professionals better communicate complex financial concepts to their clients.

Front End Development

Using Figma and Webflow, I revamped existing pages and designed new ones that supported product scalability and partnership visibility. 

Account Settings Page

The previous version of the Account Settings page had limited functionality and poor information hierarchy. I restructured it to improve user flow and visual clarity, introducing categorized tabs for easier navigation and better task completion.

Designed a scalable template to highlight integrations with third-party partners. The layout focused on clarity and hierarchy: emphasizing partner value, integration benefits, and tutorials for onboarding users.

Client Content Project

HeyAdvisor provides white-labeled visual content to help financial professionals educate clients. My task was to standardize and simplify the color systems in over 250 pieces of content, making them fully customizable for client branding.

Recoloring 250+ Infographic Pieces

Reduced color palettes from up to 100 shades to just three editable hues, enabling clients to easily rebrand assets through HeyAdvisor’s Canva integration, reducing asset customization time significantly.

Created consistent open graph and video thumbnail templates that improved brand recognition across content formats and enhanced social sharing visibility.

Creating 40+ Voiceovers

Introduced gender-inclusive voice options using ElevenLabs. Offering both male and female narrations increased relatability for advisors and their clients, aligning with HeyAdvisor’s inclusive brand identity.

Branding Kit

Designing the “Financial Literacy Monthly Content Guide 2025”

Designed a subscriber-facing resource featuring monthly themed content (e.g., RRSP season) to position HeyAdvisor as an ongoing educational partner for financial professionals.

Creating the Brand Identity Guide

Developed a cohesive brand system to support internal consistency and future scalability across design outputs.

Branded Template Presentation Deck

Created a 60+ slide standardized deck for events, demos, and conferences. Conducted design and behavioral research to identify slide structures that best communicate the product’s narrative flow and reduce cognitive load during presentations.

Social Media Story Templates

Designed a suite of animated Instagram story templates for new blog posts, infographics, and videos. These templates increased content visibility and provided the marketing team with reusable, scalable assets.

Outcome

Although I didn’t have access to post-launch analytics, the deliverables I created were implemented across HeyAdvisor’s live platform and marketing ecosystem following my internship.
Key outcomes observed internally included:

  • Improved visual consistency and scalability across 250+ client assets.
  • Enhanced UI clarity and usability in the redesigned settings and integration pages.
  • Strengthened brand perception through cohesive marketing collateral.
  • Expanded content accessibility and inclusivity with gender-balanced voiceovers.

These changes helped HeyAdvisor present itself as a more polished, trustworthy, and user-centric platform to both financial professionals and partners.
